The African bead is created from recycled glass. Kobo people of Ghana create the beads by crushing glass into a fine powder heating it into a liquid then poured into clay molds and a leaf stem is used for the hole. They are baked in clay ovens to fuse the glass. This technique has been used in Africa for centuries. Each bead differs in color. No two are alike !!!
